Catching bad actors on your platform is just the beginning. The real challenge is keeping them out for good. This panel will dive into the complexity of identifying and preventing ban evasion on digital marketplaces. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the sophisticated methods fraudsters use to evade bans, from emulators and app cloners to fake accounts created at scale, and learn practical solutions to safeguard their marketplaces. In this session, experts will explore: (1) The impact of ban evasion on user trust and platform reputation; (2) the challenges of distinguishing between legitimate users and bad actors by tracking relationships between devices and accounts; (3) Real-world examples of common evasion methods, including account takeovers, system bypasses, and anonymization; (4) the critical role of device identifiers can play in identifying returning bad actors; and, (5) Effective strategies and innovative solutions to ensure bans stick.
