Local Attractions
After (or before) the conference, be sure to explore San Francisco. Here are some locals' favorite activities available in San Francisco:
-
Walk the Golden Gate Bridge. This San Francisco icon absolutely earns its reputation as a world-class landmark. A walk (or a run) along the bridge provides amazing views of the bay, boats and freighters passing beneath!
-
Cable Cars. Another iconic San Francisco landmark that is super fun and enjoyed by locals and visitors, alike. The cable cars have been in operation since before the turn of the last century and were rebuilt following the 1906 earthquake.
-
Visit Alcatraz. A trip to Alcatraz is not to be missed. Take the ferry to the island and walk among the cells that once held Al Capone!
-
The Ferry Building. A foodie mecca including many San Franciscans' personal life-changing favorite ice cream store, Humphrey Slocombe which features bold flavors like Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee, Malted Milk Chocolate and Here’s Your Damn Strawberry!
-
Golden Gate Park and the Academy of Sciences. The park is amazing and Academy of Sciences is home to the 4-story Osher Rainforest with its spiral walkway. The rainforest enclosure houses 1,600 animals, including 250 free-flying birds and about 100 reptiles and amphibians!
