Building Child Safety Without Surveillance

15 de set. de 2026

From:

2:15 PM

To:

2:45 PM

- Dave Byrne, Founder, TrustRaise
- Chelsea Hower, Director of Trust and Safety, Bright Horizons
- Robert McNamara, Co-Founder, ChildSafe.dev

Protecting children online is becoming an increasingly urgent responsibility for marketplaces and digital platforms, but stronger safeguards can also introduce new privacy, friction, and surveillance risks for everyone else. The challenge is finding ways to identify and prevent risks such as underage access, grooming, and harmful interactions without over-policing legitimate users or treating every interaction as suspicious. In this session, Trust & Safety leaders and child-safety experts will explore how platforms can build effective child-safety programs while preserving user privacy. The discussion will cover underage-user detection, behavioral and messaging signals, on-device moderation, the role of automation and human review, and how teams can distinguish genuine risk from ambiguous interactions. Panelists will also examine the evolving regulatory landscape, including KOSA and age-appropriate design requirements, and what platforms should be doing now to prepare. Attendees will leave with practical approaches for strengthening child-safety programs, balancing automation with human judgment, and protecting minors without turning safety measures into pervasive surveillance.

Identity Doesn't End at Onboarding: Why Trust Must Become Continuous

15 de set. de 2026

From:

3:10 PM

To:

3:40 PM

- Sidant Bahl, Sr. Risk Strategist, Mercury
- Tom Burns, Head of Sales - Midmarket & Partnerships, Microblink
- Kunal Shalia, Lead Product Manager, Risk & Identity, Flex

For years, organizations treated identity verification as a single event performed during account creation. But today's fraudsters rarely attack only at the onboarding stage. They return during account recovery, payment updates, seller verification, loyalty abuse, account takeover, and high-value transactions. This session explores why identity is becoming a continuous decision rather than a one-time verification and how leading marketplaces are connecting identity, payments, behavioral intelligence, and biometrics throughout the customer lifecycle. Attendees will learn: - Why onboarding-only verification creates dangerous blind spots. - How AI enables fraudsters to reuse trusted accounts long after initial verification. - When to introduce step-up verification without harming conversion. - How continuous identity signals improve both fraud prevention and customer experience.

Beyond the Pixel: Verifying Image Provenance and Protecting Copyright at Scale

15 de set. de 2026

From:

3:10 PM

To:

3:40 PM

- Thomas Eriksson, Founder, SASHA
- Jesper Sunesen, Head of Content, Aller Media

Every day, digital platforms host millions of images they can't fully verify, leaving them exposed to fraud, misuse, and moderation calls they can't defend. This session explores how invisible, tamper-resistant image signatures embed provenance directly into content, surviving cropping, screenshots, and filters. SASHA Founder & CEO Thomas Eriksson will share how platforms can verify originals, detect copies, and power reliable takedowns. He's joined by Jesper Sunesen, Head of Content at Aller Media, one of the Nordics' largest publishers. Aller is deploying SASHA technology to fight image theft and the AI-driven misuse of its photographers' work. Together, they'll show what it takes to put provenance into practice: driving protection and respect for copyrighted material at scale, and building toward an ecosystem where sharing is safe and authentic by default.

The "Selfie-First" Paradigm: How True Reusable Identity Streamlines the Onboarding Journey for Digital Marketplaces

15 de set. de 2026

From:

3:10 PM

To:

3:40 PM

- Edgar Herrera, Critical Escalations Sr. Manager, Thumbtack
- Daryl Huff, VP, Biometrics & Identity Technologies, Jumio
- Garrett Olson, Head of Insurance & Risk Management, Wolt

Document scans remain the single largest source of friction and abandonment in digital onboarding. As marketplaces scramble to maximize conversion rates, forcing trusted or returning users to dig out a physical ID card over and over is a growth killer. In this session, we explain how true reusable identity—anchored in facial biometrics and identity graph signals—allows platforms to make the selfie the primary front door for onboarding, turning document capture into a fallback mechanism. Key Takeaways: - The Conversion Uplift: Real-world metrics showing how removing document scans for returning users yields double-digit lifts in verification completion rates. - True Reusable vs. Device Tokens: Why passkey-bound or closed-network revalidation falls short compared to cross-vendor, consent-based biometric identity. - Maintaining Defensibility: How to safely skip document friction without lowering the security bar, maintaining strict compliance across jurisdictions.
