The Data Science Lead serves as the strategic architect and research pioneer of the organization’s data ecosystem, responsible for designing scalable data architectures that support advanced analytics, machine learning modeling, and real-time processing, while also leading research and development efforts to identify, evaluate, and operationalize novel data sources such as synthetic data, IoT streams, and third-party APIs; this role drives the creation and validation of proof of concepts, conducts technical vetting of vendors and partners to ensure data quality and integration capability, and establishes rigorous analytical standards by defining organization-wide methodologies for statistical analysis, experimental design, and model development, including robust evaluation frameworks covering metrics such as precision, recall, drift detection, and bias and fairness auditing; additionally, the Data Science Lead ensures continuous methodological improvement by translating academic research and emerging industry trends into practical applications, while acting as the critical bridge between research and production by enabling the seamless integration of models and data sources into business solutions, and overseeing API and interface design to guarantee clean, scalable, and well-documented data delivery across downstream systems.
