Verified: Trust Signal or Compliance Risk?

16 de set. de 2026

From:

11:30 AM

To:

12:00 PM

- Adam Kahn, Senior Manager, Trust, LinkedIn
- John Kemler, Partner, KPMG
- Andy Parsons, Global Head of Content Authenticity, Adobe
- Clement Wolf, Director, Responsible AI Strategy, Trust & Safety, Google

As synthetic activity reaches unprecedented fidelity, verification features are rapidly reshaping online trust—while introducing complex technical and regulatory challenges. To protect information integrity, the industry is converging on multi-layered defenses that pair many different approaches, including imperceptible pixel-level watermarking, open cryptographic metadata standards, and identity verification. This panel examines the full operational lifecycle of these trust signals, exploring how platforms embed resilient watermarks, maintain provenance manifests through common media transformations, conduct identity and entity verification, and ensure data privacy. Crucially, the discussion connects these technological frameworks to the evolving legal landscape, analyzing how content verification, identity safeguards, and platform transparency intersect with emerging regulatory regimes like the EU’s DSA and the UK’s Online Safety Act. Speakers will unpack the practical trade-offs between user privacy, impersonation risks, and compliance, offering actionable best practices for platforms, researchers, and everyday.

Incognia Room

From Reactive to Proactive: ML-Driven Data Governance at Scale

16 de set. de 2026

From:

12:15 PM

To:

12:45 PM

- Vishnuvardhan Reddy Kaithapuram, Software Engineer, Amazon

Data governance is usually a compliance checkbox applied after pipelines break. At petabyte scale, that approach fails. Drawing from production experience operating Spark and Scala pipelines at Amazon Advertising and peer-reviewed research published in the Springer Nature Journal of Big Data, this talk covers how to embed governance directly into pipelines, lightweight ML techniques for detecting schema drift and data quality regressions, and the trade-offs between centralized and federated approaches. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for proactive governance, an honest view of what actually works in production, and a 90-day implementation roadmap.

LegitScript Room

Who Can Turn Off Your Fraud Controls? Lessons from Auditing Modern Platforms

16 de set. de 2026

From:

12:15 PM

To:

12:50 PM

- Jai Narula, Software Engineer, Chime Financial, Inc
- Yulia Plugatyreva, Senior SOX and IT Auditor, Chime Financial, Inc

Fraud prevention is increasingly powered by AI, real-time risk engines, behavioral analytics, and configurable decision platforms. As fraud controls become more dynamic, they also become easier to modify through feature flags, configuration changes, operational overrides, vendor updates, and administrative tools—often without a software release. While organizations focus on detecting external threats, far less attention is given to protecting the controls themselves. Drawing on research, real-world incidents, and lessons from auditing technology controls in fintech, this session examines how everyday operational decisions can unintentionally weaken fraud defenses and what organizations can do to reduce these hidden risks.

Persona Room

Incidents, Investigations, and Insight: Turning Law Enforcement Response into Risk Intelligence

16 de set. de 2026

From:

12:15 PM

To:

12:55 PM

- Kristin Kupiec, Manager, Critical Investigations & LERT, DoorDash
- Jessica Morse, Head / Integrity Operations, DoorDash

When law enforcement comes knocking, marketplaces are already behind—unless they have a clear, practiced playbook. This fireside chat explores two critical pathways where platforms intersect with law enforcement: reactive response and investigative collaboration. On the reactive side, we will unpack what happens when something goes wrong on your platform—fraud, violence, theft, or other criminal activity—and law enforcement needs data, context, and fast action. On the investigative side, we will examine cases where alleged misconduct occurs off platform, but an individual, account, or transaction is linked back to your marketplace, raising complex questions around privacy, safety, and cooperation. Through real-world examples, the speakers will share how both reactive and investigative scenarios can become engines for a more proactive risk mindset: strengthening internal policies, improving trust and safety operations, and building smart, repeatable frameworks for working with law enforcement without over-extending your teams. Attendees will walk away with practical guidance on what to do in the first 24 hours, how to triage requests, and how to convert every incident into long-term marketplace resilience.
