Beyond AI: Human-Centered Content Moderation Value

3 de nov. de 2026

- Shaun Lee, Content Integrity Lead, Booking.com
- Ranon Li, Director of Trust & Support Operations, Catawiki

From:

12:15 PM

To:

12:50 PM

Content moderation is often measured by detection accuracy, policy compliance, and processing speed, yet technically correct decisions can still damage user trust and business performance. This presentation explains a human-centered approach that connects moderation with behavioral psychology, customer experience, and cross-functional operations. It recommends measuring preserved revenue, retention, customer satisfaction, and total time to resolution; evaluating user dependencies before enforcement; triggering proactive support; and using transparent, reputation-aware communication. By moving beyond AI detection and takedown counts, User Safety teams can reduce false-positive costs, prevent silent churn, and become strategic drivers of platform trust and sustainable growth.

- Emma Tullberg, Senior Associate, Seyfarth Shaw LLP

From:

Most discussion of the EU Platform Workers Directive has focused on worker classification and the possibility that platform workers may be reclassified as employees. The Directive also introduces extensive requirements around algorithmic management, creating new compliance obligations and potentially significant implications for the way digital platforms allocate work, monitor performance and make decisions affecting workers. This session explores the key requirements of the Directive, the practical implications for digital platforms and the steps organizations should be taking now to prepare.
