Kashyap Puranik, an ex-Googler and Senior Staff Software Engineer, brings over 12 years of experience in adversarial abuse to his role. With a tenure of 10.5 years at Google and 1.5 years at two startups, Kashyap has developed a profound understanding of attacker motives, modus operandi, and the economics behind making abuse unprofitable.

During his time at YouTube, where he worked with a user base exceeding 2 billion, Kashyap gained valuable insights into the world of sophisticated attackers and their marketplace, which often targeted the platform.

His expertise includes dealing with various forms of adversarial abuse such as phishing, spam, and malware on Gmail. At YouTube, Kashyap addressed challenges related to bots, botnets, engagement abuse, account takeover (ATO), scraping, and dealing with repeat offenders. Additionally, he contributed to variant malware detection at Stairwell and focused on handling high-harm content, including misinformation and disinformation, during his tenure at Trust Lab.
